really am interested in a little more wideangle, rather than tele.
further, an improved iso just for B&W, as suggested elsewhere on the web would be super. A more versatile functionring would be smashing. Decreise MegaPixel, to 8 if that benefits ISO. Dont go further than 10 MP

Oh! .. No! - Nothing that will make this gorgeous camera more 'bulky' or 'unhandy' - nor jeopardize it's high specs - in strict accordance to the great ideas of it's brilliant constructors - would be recommendable ..

Image quality and control is it's hallmark! ..

If it does not lower it's splendid performance - only a slight increase in zoom-range - eventually maybe a Tele-Conversion-Lens (?) - improvement of performance in the higher ISO-range - and an (attachable?) remote shutter-control would be just great!! .. and preferable ..

Most of the noticeable changes will more likely be in the software.

They won't change the LX to a micro 4/3 version, since Panasonic has already come out with the G1 and GH1.

It would be cool to have a full-size sensor but probably not technically feasible.

Rather than a new version, what I'd like to see Panasonic do is produce a waterproof/underwater housing for the LX3. The cheapest available now is $700US (from 10 Bar), but the housing Panasonic makes for its other P&S cameras only run in the $250US range.

Just bought LX3. I would like to attach Sigma EF-500 ST Flash that is originaly intended to be used with Canon EOS anlog cameras. Is it possible to damage LX3 that way?

Changing it to 24-105 may be not my preference.

24-70 or 24-80 are acceptable ... not too much zoom range means better image quality.

And most of all... I just want to see the larger sensor... why they just can't put DSLR's sensor into compact body? Is it too big to do so? If so... it will be too bad.
But if not, why why why? I don't get it at all?

i just read about the micro four thirds system. and i am very sure that they will apply it for the coming lx4 (well, i hope they will!). lx4 gonna be a great compact semi-pro camera, with the specs of lx3 (and some are more advance than its predecessor). come one panasonic, make it fast! (:
