DxO is not very clear about this, but - there are actually two separate DMC-LX3 Modules ... one for LX3 RW2 "raw" image-file processing, and a separate module for LX3 JPG image-file processing!
Both are available for download and use (in the trial as well as paid versions).
This is good news for the many people who prefer to shoot JPGs with their LX3! It means that DxO Optics Pro version 6.12 and higher can also do very good things for LX3 JPGs, too!
A similar (JPG only) DxO module exists for the Panasonic DMC-FZ30.
A few of the functions that are available for "raw" image-file processing are absent in the JPG modules. However, DxO Optics Pro remains a viable and high quality image processing tool for JPGs, too!
It sounds cool, but then i downloaded demo of DxO 6.12, and all necesarry modules, i was surprised, that it didn't support .rw2 (panasonic raw)!! DxO says, that can't read EXIF (on the other way SilkyPix works fine). Why?
P.S. sorry for my english.
DxO Optics Pro 6.12.7540 added support for Panasonic DMC-LX3 and GH-1 RW2 (and JPG) image-files.
DxO does NOT support RW2 image-files created by any other Panasonic camera models than the two listed above. DxO does support a (JPG-only) Module for DMC-FZ30.
In the case of TIF or JPG files created by (any) camera brand/model, DxO Optics Pro (has in Version 6.11, and should properly) accept that file for processing (without any of the additional correction functions that accompany a supported camera/lens combination).
However, that same new version introduced a software "bug" that causes JPG image-files created by other Panasonic camera models (such as my DMC-LZ5, DMC-FZ50, and DMC-TZ4) to be (erroneously) rejected for processing. The program displays the (false) claim that "EXIF data is missing" when such is not at all the case.
Additionally this software bug causes the program to reject DMC-FZ30 JPGs (even though the DMC-FZ30 JPG Support Module is properly installed).
DxO Technical Support has personally communicated to me that this identified and documented software bug will not be remedied until the upcoming release of Version 6.13. Almost two months has now elapsed, and no such update has been released ...
DxO Optics Pro Version 6.2 appears to have fixed the previously reported software bug in Version 6.12 affecting TIF/JPG image-files recorded by non-DxO-supported Panasonic camera models.
