LX3 - REVIEW BY USA TODAY

Note: This review is full of weird statements. (Can you really compare the LX3's 720p HD24p video with the G10's 640 x 480 (30 fps). Since when is a RAW file an uncompressed jpeg?)

LX3 - RICOH CAP (TUTORIAL)

Note: Tutorial by Nico

English:
Take 2 plastic straps (10mm large) and cut out the side parts to get that triangle element. Use super strong glue and stick the 3 elements on the cap as shown on the photographs. Wait one hour. Then try it out.

Note:
This is a DIY tutorial. The lx3-photography blog is not responsible for any potential damage this manipulation could result to. Always be very careful
with your gear.

LX4 - FIRST INSPIRATION

I am posting just a couple of these LX4 speculation because this model will probably be the first compact camera integrating the Micro Four Thirds technology. Olympus and Panasonic collaborated on this new technology
and we will soon discover it's full potential. I am not a fan of the Panasonic G1
but integrating the Micro Four Thirds concept into a compact camera is really interesting. Just looking at the Olympu's prototype make me all crazy about it.

LX4 - WHAT IF?

Some buzz is flying around about the Lumix LX3 being discontinued. This is very hectic and we should all relax, but maybe it is time for some fun speculation?

Lumix LX4
? Already soon? What if? Maybe this is a great time to communicate some of the users request for the future LX3 upgrade that is going to happen anyway. Just some inspiration. I have rarely seen so much hype about a digital compact camera and I am sure we will know what is going on really soon.
In the meantime here is what I think.

So the real deal, Lumix LX4. I am dropping some (speculated) specs as well as personal requests that will hopefully match with most of the users expectations.

LX4 (reasonable & necessary upgrades):
- ISO 800 should look like the current ISO 400 (or even better)
- All film modes should be usable in any shooting mode (ex: movie)
- 1080p HD video mode (with black and white dynamic !!!)
- Improved and consistent menu
- Intervalometer function
- Less expensif and diverse accessories (remote controller, filter holder,...)
- Mechanical lens cap (if it stays with a single zoom lens)
- Longer zoom 24-105mm (if it stays with a single zoom lens)
- Better grip
- Bulb mode
- . . .

LX4 (dream ful & unreasonable specs):
- Interchangeable lenses introduced with the micro 4/3
- Integrated automated HDR function
- Polaroid , lomo, .. just some fun color modes
- Square image format (1:1)
- Built in Wifi (image transfer)
- mini USB plug
- charging via USB
- 1000 fps recording (just kidding, well the EX-FH20 does it)
- . . .
