of the micro four-thirds technology it was predictable to think of an LX4 with interchangeable lenses, well it is not called LX4 but GF1. As you can see it looks more then familiar to the LX3. Real question is, will the four-third models kill the high-end compact cameras or in other words , will an LX4 ever exist?
It will depend on the GF1's success. More info soon....

wonder if this will be rebranded by Leica...
If it has a fast wide-angle, I'm in! Be nice if it had remote control/release too. This looks promising.
how much do you guys think the GF1 will cost comparing to the LX3
almost same as olympus EP-1 i guess.
i just got my LX3, and i'm wondering if i should sell it for this!
This looks great, I think it would blow away the E-P1!
Guys, I just used the EP-1 for a month test-driving it for Olympus Australia. Its a very good camera, incredible image quality, menu is a little strange, and there are some quirks that make it a little difficult to use initially. However, I found the camera to have good weight, nice wide angle lens, didn't like the longer zoom, and shooting street pictures its a little slow.
I would like to believe that the new Panasonic GF-1 or Lx-4, will give Olympus a run for their money, but its going to need to be as heavy, faster writing speed shooting raw, the lenses need to be fast, sort of like a digital contax G2 of old. I'm waiting for the new Panasonic before I buy...fingers crossed...Though I think that the new panasonic will be as good if not better than the ep-1.
Staton hit it on the head. If they can make this camera the "new digital G2" they will crush the competition.I would buy that in a heartbeat (in black).I love my LX3 and will keep it, but MAN ,GF1 would be my new GF.
After looking again at the pix, it has, for now, a bayonet mount.I wonder what glass will grace this baby.
What is lens for G1? If its not Summicron, sorry lads, it is waste of money for new slogan.
I had a similar question. Bought both cameras and took some comp shots. The GF1 IQ comes shining through once you compare side by side:
