The dpreview article is indeed an interesting one, comparing the lx3 with the canon g10, the tz5 and others.
NB: the article has been published on the 19th of December 2008, so it's already six months old, but neither the lx3 nor the g10 have been replaced, so it is still valid. (Don't know about the other cameras lifecycles though.)
